Canadian opener Rizwan Cheema is no stranger to Canadian Cricket fans. The Pakistani-born cricketer is well known for his ability to take on big names in International cricket and he did just that at the recently concluded T20 Canada Cup Played at the King City Cricket Grounds, Canada.

Canada vs Sri Lanka was played on Sunday the 13th of October and Sri Lanka registered a big score of 154 on the scoreboard with some big hits from captain Mahela Jayawardena, Dilhara and Kulasekera .

Now, it was Canada’s turn to chase this massive score and Canada showed sign of disaster as Srilankan Bowler Dilhara Fernando managed to cripple the Canadian Batting order with 3 early wickets with the score at a mere 14 runs in just 3 overs.

The courageous Rizwan Cheema had to keep a cool head while wickets kept falling on the other end and decided to take on the mighty Sri Lankans to save the Canadians from registering the lowest score in T20 history.

The Pakistani-born Rizvan Cheema entertained the crowd immensely as he was blazing away with 68 off 43 balls with some fabulous boundaries and some elegant sixes before he came under the spin spell of Ajantha Mendis who managed to silent the Canadian attack. After Cheema’s exit the rest of the batting order was taken away for just 17runs on the board with Ajantha Mendis and Dihara Fernando wasting no time in delivering results.

Ajantha Mendis was named Man of the Match for claiming 4 for 17.
